In 1995, Robert Mondavi of California and Vittorio Frescobaldi of Tuscany joined hands to create an Italian wine of extraordinary quality. Their partnership was the first of its kind in Italy, and their premier offering was Luce della Vite. The name means " Light of the Vine " in Italian and was inspired by the morning sunlight on the way from Florence to the renowned winemaking region of Montalcino.

Of the 88 hectares of vineyards owned by Luce della Vite, 11 are registered in the Albo del Brunello di Montalcino.

This is where the Sangiovese for Luce Brunello is born. This wine is a tribute to this excellent wine born in Montalcino in the second half of the 19th Century. It was the first wine in Italy to achieve, in 1980, the Denominazione d’Origine Controllata e Garantita. Today it’s one of the emblems of fine wines made in Italy.

Luce Brunello di Montalcino thus continues a journey of the highest quality inspired by this unique territory and the great wines that are born here.

Amazing aromas of crushed berries, cherries, flowers, black truffles and wet earth, turning to violets and black tea. Extremely aromatic.
It lightens up on the palate thanks to that bright acidity and the general quality of the primary fruit flavors obtained in this happy vintage.
Full-bodied, deep and profound with fantastically strong tannins that just melt into the wine. Fantastic length and intensity. Truly great.
